These blades cost more than three times as much at our local (100 miles away) store. They cut soft and hard woods well until they hit a nail or something. the metal blades cut wood almost just as well and are not destroyed by that nail.
product cuts soft metal well but screws and nails just okay; blades do not last long and are relatively expensive
WE PURCHASED THE FEIN TOOL (AND THESE ADDITIONAL BLADES) JUST AS WE WERE BEGINNGING FINISHING OUR BASEMENT - THIS TOOL REALLY CAME IN HANDY AS A CUTOFF SAW FOR CORNERS OF TRIM THAT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO CUT TO THE CORRECT SIZE BEFORE INSTALLATION - WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE THE CUTS AFTER INSTALLATION. GREAT TOOL.
What can I say. I purchased them for my husband, who is restoring a boat, and he loves them. Perfect for the job he is doing. Thanks.
For old house restoration this tool and these blades are a "must have" item. I kind of wish someone else would offer a slightly cheaper alternative. These original blades work well, though. Not a substitute for circular and saber saws- but once in a while you need the type of cut that only this saw blade can perform ( thight, small spaces- door jams, etc).
